literary workshop with Eva Lustigová and Markéta Pilátová
The literary workshop will present the book Arnošt’s Journey, a graphic novel that captures the key moments of Arnošt Lustig’s life through a dialogue between writer, translator, and journalist Markéta Pilátová and Lustig’s children, Eva and Josef. The text is accompanied by original collages by Eliška Podzimková, adding a distinctive visual dimension to the story.
The programme will include readings from the book as well as a creative workshop focused on the life writing method that Markéta Pilátová used while creating the publication. Participants will explore how personal memories, family stories, and individual experiences can become a pathway to storytelling that connects individual destinies with broader historical events.
The programme was created in cooperation with the Arnošt Lustig Foundation as part of the AL100 project, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the author’s birth.
