guided tour
What stories lie behind the paintings that once adorned the walls of the villa of the Heller family, a Jewish family from Hranice na Moravě? This guided tour will take visitors through an exhibition of artworks from the collection of textile entrepreneur Stefan Heller, while revealing the dramatic fate of his family during the Nazi occupation. It will explore the confiscation of the family's entire property by the Gestapo following the establishment of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, as well as the search for the family's lost paintings and other furnishings from their residences.
The tour, led by Jana Jirásková, Director of the Centre for Documentation of Property Transfers of Cultural Assets of World War II Victims, will also tell the story of the restitution of these cultural assets to Stefan Heller's descendants.
The tour will be conducted in Czech.
