song workshop with Elizabeth Strom
Singer Elizabeth Strom will guide participants through the world of traditional Yiddish songs and introduce their historical and cultural context.
The workshop is open to everyone regardless of singing experience — from professional musicians to those who simply enjoy singing. Participants will learn two traditional Yiddish songs together and explore their distinctive melody, rhythm and expression. They will also have the opportunity to join the evening concert and sing together with Elizabeth and Yale Strom directly on stage.
The workshop thus combines a musical learning experience with the living tradition of communal singing, one of the most important elements of Jewish musical culture.
