guided tour

The former Löw-Beer family textile factory complex in Brněnec is one of those places where the dramatic history of the twentieth century is reflected in both buildings and human lives. During the Second World War, a subcamp of the Gross-Rosen concentration camp was established here, where approximately 1,200 Jews from Schindler’s List were saved. The authentic setting of the story made famous by Steven Spielberg’s film has survived to this day.

The guided tour will introduce the project that aims to transform the former factory into an international centre for education, memory, and testimony. Visitors will learn about the history of the Löw-Beer family, the fate of the factory after its confiscation by the Nazis, and the stories of the people who survived here during the war. The exhibition features authentic testimonies, archival materials, film screenings, and modern digital tools that connect the history of the site with the present day.

The tour will be conducted in Czech.
