film screening
The screening of Steven Spielberg’s Academy Award-winning film will revisit one of the best-known stories of Jewish rescue during the Second World War. The film follows the story of Oskar Schindler, an industrialist from Svitavy, who saved more than a thousand Jewish men, women, and children from deportation and almost certain death during the Nazi occupation.
The screening takes on a special significance in Brněnec, where the factory to which the Jews from Schindler’s List were transferred at the end of the war is located. Many of them found refuge and survival there. The event thus offers a rare opportunity to watch this celebrated film in the authentic setting of one of the places where its story actually unfolded.
